The following table shows all of the "web-safe" colours, underlining the really-safe colours. The lack of gamma correction means that the six desired intensities 0%, 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, and 100% are displayed as 0%, 2%, 10%, 28%, 57%, and 100% on a standard 2.5 gamma CRT or LCD, making most colours very dark. The intensities at the low end of the range are nearly indistinguishable from each other:
