Indefinite articles

Indefinite Articles translate into English as "a" or "an" and therefore there is no plural. Like in English you use the plural noun without any article.

Forms

As there is no indefinite article in the plural, kein is used to illustrate plural declension. Make special note region in bold is where the indefinite article lacks a primary case ending. This is important when declining adjectives.

• Indefinite Article Declension

• Examples:

Er schnitt eine Zwiebel.  - He chopped an onion.
Er schnitt Zwiebeln.      - He chopped onions.
Er schnitt keine Zwiebeln - He chopped no onions

ein-words

• ein-words include the following determiners:

ein - a
kein - none, not any
mein - my
dein - your (singular)
euer - your (plural)
Ihr - your (formal)
sein - his, its
ihr - her
unser - our
ihr - their

These words have the same endings as ein in all the cases. Since ein has no plural form, because it means "a" or "one", note the plural forms of all other ein-words:

dieser-words

dieser - this, that
jeder - each, every
alle - all
welcher - which, what

These words have endings similar to the definite article. Note: the plural of jeder is alle.

The pattern for the determiner welcher is identical to dieser. For instance: welcher, welche, welches, etc.
