Transistors

In general, transistors can be classified into two categories:

  1. Field Effect Transistor (FET)
    • Junction FET (JFET)
    • Metal Oxide Semiconductor FET (MOSFET)
  2. Bipolar Junction Transistor (BJT)
    • NPN (+collector => -emitter; like a switch that is normally open. It will not conduct until a current is applied at its base terminal)
    • PNP (reverse of NPN)
